Project 3 - Portfolio Web Site

For Web Fundamentals there will be 3 projects due over the course of the class. They account for 30% of your class grade. Projects 1 and 2 lead up to Project 3, which is a personal bio web site:

Project 1: Site Proposal (70pts)
Project 2: Page Content that will go on your site (40pts)
Project 3: Portfolio Web Sitet (120pts) and Presentation (70pts)

Project 3: Portfolio Web Site & Presentation

For this class project you are going to make a website about you.Your site should have a "continuous look" which means all the pages share some colors/graphics/layout to look like a unified web site. This web site will have the following pages:

Home Page - (50 words minimum) this is the first page visitors will see, and is the introduction to
Personal Bio - (200 words minimum) your past, life, your career plans, etc.
Resume - (250 words minimum)
Portfolio Page - (150 words minimum) his page should give visitors the ability to see at least 3 examples of your professional/student work.
Contact Page - (150 words minimum) email, address, and any other information you would like prospective employers to see.
Services - (150 words minimum) This page specifies what you can do for teh visitor (photo shoots? website design? party planning?).
Special Interest Page - (150 words minimum) this is a page where you can express something a little more personal about yourself. (For example you can put up your favorite photos and sites having to do with your hobby, or maybe show family pictures)

Presentation	Professional appearance – You should dress as if you were presenting to a client who has paid you to design their website.
	Ability to answer questions of classmates after the presentation
	Ability to hold the attention of your audience (the classroom)
	Strength and clarity of your voice
	Eye contact with your audience (the classroom) and instructor (You may use aids such as notecards to help with your presentation.)
	Ability to articulate and present your website in a 2-4 minute presentation, some suggestions include: Who your audience is for your portfolio site. What are their traits? How did you design the site to suit them? Why you chose your color scheme, graphics and layout for your site. How visitors can navigate around your site and why you chose to organize your navigation the way you did. What the sources for your images, ideas and designs are.

Turning it in:

You will post your project to your IADT web hosting account. The site should be viewable by typing in the URL http://www.studentweb.iadt.edu/~yourusername into the browser.
Since you should be using relative paths to refer to your files the site should work if viewed from the CD just as well as on the student web.
You will email your instructor ( ) indicating that you have posted your project and YOUR EMAIL MESSAGE MUST INCLUDE THE URL TO YOUR WEBSITE.
You will hand in a CD containing your entire web site (the root folder and its contents).
This CD will be professional in appearance, in a jewelcase clearly labeled “Final Project ” with your name, class, and the company are designing for.

GRADING

This project, by istelf, is worth over 17% of your final grade!
